This Week's Tech Tip |
Do you really need a laptop?
These days laptops are all the rage. But is it really the right choice for you? When you buy a laptop, you give up the choice on what size screen you'll be sitting in front of. At this point you can easily buy LCD screens/monitors that are as large as 24" and if you are getting older, a larger viewing area is helpful. Also, laptop repairs are, generally, 30% more expensive when things do break. Of course, if you are a person who needs to take their information with them constantly, such as a real estate agent, student or reporter, then a laptop is the right decision. Sometimes people have space constraints in their home or office and a laptop is the right choice. So don't buy a laptop just because your neighbor did. Take a good look a your specific needs and make the right choice for you. |

A Bank Branch Manager To Help You
Christiane S. Reeder of BB&T
There was a time when it was valuable to have a relationship with your banker. They kept you posted on the status of your accounts and they were instrumental in helping you borrow money. Most of all, they had good advice about what do do with your money. Although relatively young, Christiane is "old school" when it comes to being your banker. We have a business account with her and really appreciate the level of service she and her bank provides us. BB&T is a bank with the size and assets to be benneficial and the wisdom to employ and empower their managers to be valuable business partners. Need a banker that can really help? Call Christiane at (804) 288-2579 or to view her bank, click here.

New Mr. Tech Support Policy
|
New Payment Options For Our Customers
90% of our customers pay for the service they receive upon completion of the work. For a few of our small businesses, we have allowed the courtesy of paying us within two weeks (Net15) so they can process our invoice with in their normal vendor payment procedures. Usually, this means we will have a check printed for us during their next check run and dropped in the mail to us. Unfortunately, we have had significant challenges with this process in the last six months, both with the US Postal Service, either delivering checks to us in a timely fasion or sometimes not delivering the check at all, or with our customer saying they put the check in the mail, while not really having done so. To reduce the frustration we have felt, we are removing the US Postal Service from the equation. Mr Tech Support has created a secure Payment Portal on its website, allowing our customers to authorize us to draft the money they owe us from their checking account. As always, the customer can elect to pay with a charge card. We will be happy to perform the same, competent level of service we always have, and we wil be expectecting the customer to select a method of payment at the end orf our visit, or they will need to find a different service provider.
